About Us

Welcome to Our Parenting Community

Hello, and thank you for finding your way here.

I am someone who believes that every parent genuinely loves their child. I have seen it in countless families, in hospital corridors, in clinic waiting rooms, and in my own home with my younger siblings. Parents wake up every day wanting the best for their children.

But here’s what I have also noticed: loving your child deeply and knowing exactly how to guide them through each stage of development are two very different things. That gap between love and knowledge is exactly why parenting styles exist.

How This Journey Started

My path to creating this website was not the typical one. I do not have children of my own yet, and I am not married. Some might wonder if that disqualifies me from talking about parenting. But let me share why I believe my perspective matters.

Growing up in Pakistan, I am the eldest among my siblings, with some of them being 11 to 12 years younger than me. I watched them grow from infants to school-going children. I saw the sleepless nights, the feeding struggles, the tantrum phases, and the small victories that made everyone smile. But more importantly, I saw the questions in my parents’ eyes—the uncertainty, the moments when they second-guessed themselves.

My own childhood was not easy. I experienced what psychologists would call a stressful and traumatic upbringing, marked by a lack of attention and having to shoulder responsibilities that were perhaps too heavy for my age. Those experiences left marks, some visible and some not. But they also gave me something valuable: a deep understanding of how childhood experiences shape who we become as adults.

When I pursued my BS in Applied Psychology, everything started making sense. The theories I studied were not just academic concepts; they were explanations for real behaviors I had witnessed and experienced. Child development was not abstract anymore. Attachment theory explained why some children clung to their parents while others seemed distant. Behavioral psychology showed why certain parenting approaches worked while others backfired.

From Theory to Real Life

After completing my degree, I began working with children in hospitals and clinics. This is where theory met reality most profoundly.

I have sat with parents who were exhausted, confused, and sometimes on the verge of tears because they could not understand why their child was struggling. I have seen mothers blame themselves for their toddler’s tantrums. I have watched fathers feel helpless when their teenager stopped talking to them. And in almost every case, these parents were doing their absolute best with the information they had.

The problem was not a lack of love. It was a lack of proper guidance.

I have observed well-meaning parents making decisions that, while coming from a place of love, were actually harmful to their child’s development. Sometimes it was because of cultural practices passed down through generations without question. Sometimes it was advice from relatives that sounded reasonable but went against what research tells us about child psychology. And sometimes it was simply because they had nowhere to turn for reliable, research-backed information in a language and context they could understand.

That’s when I realized something important: parents in our part of the world need a resource that bridges the gap between Western psychological research and our own cultural context. They need someone who understands both the science and the reality of raising children in Pakistan.

Our Mission

This website is not built on parenting theories I read about in someone else’s life. It’s built on what I have observed, studied, and experienced firsthand.

Every article I write is grounded in authentic research and established psychological theories. I do not share random tips I found on the internet. When I talk about infant sleep patterns, attachment styles, or managing toddler behavior, I am drawing from developmental psychology, behavioral science, and child psychology research that has been tested and proven.

But here’s what makes this different from a textbook: I explain these concepts in a way that makes sense for real parents dealing with real situations. I have seen how these theories play out in actual families. I know which challenges are most common because I have witnessed them in clinical settings and in homes around me.

My background in psychology gives me the knowledge. My experiences in hospitals and clinics give me practical understanding. And my own childhood experiences give me empathy for both the child who’s struggling and the parent who’s trying their best.

Our Values

Parenting Styles covers everything related to raising children, from infancy through adolescence:

For Different Ages: Whether you are navigating the sleepless nights with a newborn, the boundary-testing phase with a toddler, or the complex emotions of a teenager, you will find guidance here. I write about babies, infants, toddlers, and older children because parenting doesn’t stop after the first few years. Each stage brings new challenges and requires different approaches.

Beyond Just Child-Rearing: I also focus heavily on you, the parent. Managing parental stress, dealing with your own childhood trauma, balancing work and family, handling judgment from relatives, maintaining your marriage while raising kids—these topics matter because you cannot pour from an empty cup. A struggling parent cannot effectively support their child.

Evidence-Based Approach: Every piece of advice comes from psychological research and established theories. I cite studies, explain the science, and then show you how to apply it practically.

Cultural Sensitivity: I understand the unique challenges of parenting in Pakistani culture. The extended family dynamics, the societal expectations, the traditional practices that sometimes conflict with modern psychology—I address these honestly.

My Promise to You

I won’t pretend to have all the answers. Parenting is complex, and every child is different. What I can promise is that everything I share here will be:

Honest: I will tell you when something is backed by solid research and when it’s based on observation. I won’t exaggerate or make false promises.

Practical: Academic knowledge is useless if you cannot apply it. I translate research into actions you can actually take.

Compassionate: I know how hard parenting is. I have seen parents break down from exhaustion and self-doubt. There’s no judgment here, only support.

Balanced: I present different perspectives and approaches because what works for one family might not work for another.

Why Choose Us

The way we raise our children shapes not just their childhood but their entire future. A child who feels secure and understood becomes an adult who can form healthy relationships. A child who learns emotional regulation does not grow up battling anxiety and anger issues. A child who experiences consistent, loving guidance develops confidence and resilience.

But the opposite is also true, and I know this from personal experience. Children who grow up with inconsistent attention, emotional neglect, or harsh parenting carry those wounds into adulthood. I carry some myself.

My goal with Parenting Styles is to help break these cycles—to give parents the information and support they need to raise emotionally healthy children who grow into well-adjusted adults and to strengthen the parent-child bond through understanding rather than assumption.
